The Craig Farm is nestled into the foothills of northwest Georgia. We specialize in breeding fine quality Miniature Herefords. Our cattle are selected to be registered breeding stock, pasture pets, and grass-fed beef.
Along with the cattle, we have a few smaller livestock projects. We raise standard-bred, heritage Sussex chickens. We have a flock of Coturnix quail in a few interesting plume and egg colors. April raises adorable Dwarf Hotot rabbits. Our latest addition is ADGA registered Oberhasli dairy goats. Please see individual pages for more information about each of these programs. Raising our animals with love and care is the driving force of who we are. Every animal on our farm, even one destined to nourish us or our community, is treated with compassion. We live by the “one bad day” philosophy. Alongside the animals, we have a small orchard, cut flower garden, and a modest vegetable garden. The orchard is still in its infancy but currently grows strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, and peaches. Our flower garden is filled primarily with sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, and marigolds in a variety of colors and textures. In the vegetable garden, we tend to choose heirloom seed varieties and trial a number of different varieties of the same vegetable to determine what grows best here. Extra seasonal produce is available at local farm markets when available. The farm is a lifelong dream come true for April, who grew up listening to her dad’s stories of his farm life in Iowa. Brandon was sort of dragged into it, but now he is just as passionate. Our goal is to live a simpler life in a fast-paced world. We want to be part of our food supply: knowing where it came from and how it was raised. We also want to share our passion with our community. Sincerely, Brandon & April Craig |
Please note that our farm is not open to the public. We are not currently offering tours to the public nor do we have visiting hours.
