About The Craig Farm
The Craig Farm is a small farm in Georgia that is owned and operated by Brandon and April Craig.
Our journey into homesteading was born from a desire to be a greater part of our food system. We want to know where our food comes from and what went into raising it. We dream of a slower life in a fast-paced world. We crave self-sufficiency. And now, with our farm expanding in many exciting ways, we want to share our passion with others in our community. We breed a variety of small, practical livestock that are well suited for the small and practical homestead. Our cattle are Miniature Herefords registered with the American Hereford Association. Mini Herefords are just short statured Herefords that are easy keepers on a small acreage. We selectively breed a few types of poultry according to the American Poultry Association including Jersey Giant chickens and Cayuga ducks. Finally, we have over thirty years experience in raising rabbits. Currently we are home to the beautiful Dwarf Hotot. In addition to our animals, we grow a modest vegetable garden, a berry bed, flowers, and a pumpkin patch. I prefer to grow heirloom varieties of vegetables and grow them as naturally as possible. When treatments are needed in the garden, I opt for organic whenever possible. I am a teacher by trade which means I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with others. If you have questions, please reach out and I'll help as best I can. You can contact us by email with questions or comments. We do have a Facebook page, but I often forget to update it. Sincerely, April & Brandon |
Please note that our farm is not open to the public. We are not currently offering tours to the public nor do we have visiting hours.
