Elegant Eyes: Dwarf Hotot Rabbits
I have admired Dwarf Hotot rabbits for a long time and finally had the opportunity to bring home my first ones in January 2025. These rabbits came all the way from MG Rabbitry and Rockin’ Horse Acres in Michigan as well as Percy’s Bunnies in Wisconsin. My heartfelt thank you to these breeders for sharing their stock as well as Marcy & Morgan Griffin for transporting them down south.
Dwarf Hotots are called "the eyes of the fancy" due to their unique markings. An ideal marked Dwarf Hotot has a white body with "eye liner" around each eye. Dwarf Hotots are small rabbits, weighing around 3 pounds. They have a compact body shape - evaluated in the pose of a Dutch or Polish rather than upright like a Netherland Dwarf. The breed offers a challenge because the correct eye band markings can be difficult to achieve. I will be breeding my Dwarf Hotots according to the Standard of Perfection while maintaining friendly temperaments and excellent health. My foundation herd is black banded rabbits. All of my rabbits live in my home in large, solid floor enclosures. Member: American Dwarf Hotot Club |
